General
Between 3-13 years old, both boys and girls of all abilities. Please see
programme overview for all of our courses and camps. However, InterSoccer also does
School Coaching where we coach both fun and competitive soccer at schools up to the age of 18 years
Every player who attends a Soccer Schools course will have a positive, unique and fun experience. Children will have the opportunity of improving their skills in a safe and healthy environment and making lots of new friends. The importance of fair play and sportsmanship will also be stressed. Please see
programme overview and relevant sections for more info.
Boys and girls of all abilities, ranging from those who are complete beginners, those who play recreational soccer and those who play for school and local clubs. Where possible on each course children are split into age and ability groups in order to maximise the learning potential of each individual. We have also introduced
Academy Camps in the summer to cater for the 10-13 years age group.
Our coaching staff will pass on the very best of their experience to the children on the course. Our
coaches plus coaching aids will help improve the skills levels in all children. Coaching aids used depending on type of course will include: Mini Soccer Arenas with appropriate sized goals, Passing Gates, Dribbling Aids, Soccer Tennis Courts, Shot - speed laser guns.
Yes, many children attend without friends or family. The individual children will be placed in an appropriate group with children of similar age and ability. Children on our courses generally always make friends and our coaches are encouraged to help with child interaction.
InterSoccer caters for everyone including all levels of ability whether 3 or 13 years old and makes the courses a huge amount of fun. There are always newcomers to soccer who start with us for the first time and therefore they will be allocated to a group of the same/similar ability, ideally within there age group. Our coaches always do there best to help a new child fit in.
For all InterSoccer courses once the child is dropped off it is not necessary to stay at the pitch unless its been specified. However, please make sure that the coach has all of your phone contact details. You will need to return to the pitch at the designated finish time for collection of your child.
We strive to cater for all abilities, our coaches are trained to get the best out of the children including those at the top of the group. At the Summer Camps we have now introduced
Academy Camps as part of the week for 10-13 year olds to encourage the development of the top players.
All children should be covered by their own health and accident insurance.
Discounts are available for full day Summer Camps only in relation to more than one child joining the course and also in relation to attending more than one camp. All other courses are set at a competitive price level, especially when booking through our
Book Online.
This depends on the age difference, however, where possible we will always try and accommodate so that the children have the best time possible. We often find that a younger child is already of a higher standard than average if he has had a brother or sister to practice with. Please send email in advance to
Steve Long to discuss.
Courses are done in English and sometimes French in which many coaches also have a good understanding (some fluent). In the Swiss German section we always look to place coaches with a knowledge of German where possible and employ Junior Coaches who have German. We have found through experience that not understanding English does not affect the enjoyment of the participant as many children on the courses are bi-lingual and help each other plus the coaching can also be understood visually.
Yes if it is an After School or Mini Soccer Course. It’s not possible to join a Holiday Course late unless you still pay the full price. All courses should be booked online if it is still open, please check if the course you are interested in is still open for payment. If not, email us at
Steve Long and a price will be set for the remainder of the course plus payment method. Please be aware that it is considerably cheaper per course paying via
BOOK ONLINE.
We have started certain courses through requests from parents. If you are interested in InterSoccer starting a course in your region please email Steve Long with details in relation to your region, if you know of potential facilities and if you know of other families who would be interested.
Each child attending an After School, Mini Soccer or 4 Day Summer Camp Course will normally receive a gift for taking part in the course. Courses during winter term and if a very short spring course will generally not receive a gift unless stated. Those joining the course late will receive the gift only if gifts still remain and the gift is included in the quoted price..
Please see your region for courses available as each area can differ. Generally each day is for a different age group. We have overlapped the age groups so that each age from 5 to 13 years can choose generally between two and sometimes three different days. Please see
After School for more information. For children younger than 5 we seriously recommend that a child starts with our
mini soccer courses first, this is an excellent intro to soccer.
Please send an email to
Steve Long and there should be a good possibility of them attending on another more convenient day if this is deemed a practical solution taking into account experience of the child. Each situation will be considered on a case by case basis, however, we try to be as flexible as possible.
Each group will be taught a different topic each week to help develop the participants skills and techniques, this will be adapted to each group with further progressions made the older the age group. Many children start from Mini Soccer and advance up the age groups as they become older improving skill and technique. The importance of fair play and sportsmanship will also be stressed.
Children can start from 3 years old and can continue until 6 years.
The courses are designed for complete beginners and for those younger children with a little more soccer experience. This is great way of starting your child off in soccer.
To learn basic soccer skills and techniques and to have lots of fun. The course is an ideal start before advancing on to the
After School courses.
At some venues there is more than one Mini Soccer course on a day. We recommend that the 3 year olds where possible do the first course, this generally has a higher percentage of younger children and it helps if we can keep them in the same group. If your 3 year old really is not available until the second course then please register for that.
After School courses are for 5 years an upwards so a child can move up once 5 years old. Depending on childs/parents schedules a child can stay with mini soccer even after the age of 5 years.
If your child is there for the first time during Mini Soccer you can accompany him/her to the centre of the pitch if really necessary where the coach will probably be stationed, however, after the first time please stay on the edge of the pitch. From past experience we find that the children focus more on the soccer the further the parents from the pitch.
All children should go to the toilet before start of the course, as generally there are no breaks for the toilet during the 1 hour session.
We are fairly flexible for the children registered for mini soccer. However, where possible children should be in soccer kit, including shorts (or tracksuit bottoms if colder), t-shirt, tracksuit top, rainjacket. Warm hat and gloves should be provided when colder weather and please have with you a drinks bottle for your child. All children should go to toilet before start of course.
Most courses are mixed which in general is certainly not a problem for girls 3-13 years and the girls on these courses have a great time. However, we also have created girls only courses to help encourage more girls to play soccer. For more information please see the
Girls Soccer section.
We have started numerous courses in certain areas due to requests from parents. If you could get a minimum of 8 girls together in your area and if we can supply a coach then we would love to start a course. Please email
Steve Long if you can help out.
There are 2 distinct age groups at Saturday both who will have a great time. Fun Footy for children 5-7 years where children can do a course to improve their skills and techniques, play fun games and small-sided matches which will help them have a better grasp of football for the future. For children 8-12 years old there is the Saturday Soccer League where all participants will be split into teams and take part in a weekly league playing small sided football matches. See
Saturday Soccer for more details.
Boys and Girls from 5-12 years of all abilities.
All abilities are welcome for 5-7 year group doing Fun Soccer. For the Saturday Soccer League it helps if the participant has played at least some recreational soccer in advance. InterSocccer’s
After School /
Mini Soccer courses are ideal for gaining more experience, however, all abilities can participate in the Soccer League and will have a great time.
No, you must pay for the whole course. See
Saturday Soccer section for pricing.
There will generally be 2 Saturdays of trials which will help InterSoccer judge the ability of each child. Participants will then be allocated to hopefully balanced teams. All who attend will be admitted into the League unless there is a serious health issue to be taken into consideration.
Please go to
Book Online and register for the next available course.
For the smooth running of the League it helps immensely if your child can participate in most weekends. This encourages team loyalty, helps build a good team ambiance and aids in developing friendships as well as improving their match skills.
Each participant in the Saturday Soccer League will receive a kit which will be the families responsibility for the term and will need to be handed back at the end of the season as it will be generally used for the next season.
No, as with all courses parents can leave the pitch. For Saturday Soccer at Founex there is a large shopping centre very near by. However, parents are more than welcome to spectate and cheer on the teams in a friendly and constructive manner.
For the first 2 weeks before Book Online is closed you can come and try the course (except holiday courses) for free. However, once you have tried a session you should then register via our
BOOK ONLINE. Once Book Online is closed you can pay for a trial pitchside if your child has never done an InterSoccer session before however you will be charged 20chf which should be paid directly to coach BEFORE first session in exact change, nothing smaller than a 5chf coin should be provided. If you wish to continue with the course you will need to pay the PITCHSIDE price minus the trial fee. It is cheaper and more efficient to therefore register online for the course.
Most main cities in Switzerland are now covered by InterSoccer in relation not just to
Summer Camps but also
Autumn and
Easter Camps. For all info please visit our
Soccer Programme info
All day Summer Camps are for children from 5 to 13 years old. However, in certain regions we have started
Mini Camps which are morning only camps and start at 10:00 and finish at 12:00, these camps are for 4-5 year olds. Parents have the choice of registering their 5 year old either for morning only or full day.
From past experience 5 year olds can do the all day especially if they have done an
After School or
Mini Soccer course or have played football regularly before. However, although not obligatory those with no soccer experience may want to try the Mini Camp to start. It is possible to upgrade to the full day after the first morning once the difference in camp price has been paid directly to Head Coach. If you upgrade also please inform
Steve Long directly by email.
No pocket money will be necessary as a snack, packed lunch plus drink for the day should be provided by the parent. Participants will be based at the facility for the full day.
Academy Camps were designed especially for 10-13 year olds, offering 4 days of more challenging soccer tuition taught by InterSoccer’s most experienced coaches. All abilities are catered for and participants will be allocated to their ability level. Participants will come from a recreational soccer background or played at school or local club level.
4 day
Junior Camps were designed especially for 5-9 year olds with children allocated to their relevant age and ability groups so that each child will prosper from having a fun time in their particular age group. With the 8-9 years age group in particular, as well as having a strong fun emphasis there will also be more challenging coaching through InterSoccer’s experienced coaches which will help their progression for future Academy Camps.
Generally all children below the age of 10 should be in the Junior Camps where they will be with children of similar age and ability and will be challenged accordingly. The Academy Camps were designed to provide the right challenges in order to stimulate the older children as we discovered the mixing with younger children for this age group had a negative impact. With the Academy brand we are trying to create a system where the younger children will aspire to join the Academy Camps and therefore play soccer until an older age. If a child is considered a higher enough level to participate in the Academy Camp then this is possible and will be done at the discretion of the head Coach of that particular camp.
No, a child will be expected to do the 4 day course all on the same week. It’s not possible to do 2-3 days one week and the rest another week. If you only want to do 2-3 days of the course then full price still needs to be paid, however we prefer for the development of the child that they participate for the whole course. If you wish to do less days then please try the holiday day camps during autumn, winter and easter which are designed for this.
Each camp is 4 days long from 10:00-16:00. This is different to the Day Camps during all other holidays that run from 10:00-15:00. Certain camps can go to 17:00, please see Summer Camp section for full details.
It is possible to drop children off from 09:00 where coach (es) will be on duty, however please check with the course you register for with what time is indicated.
You need to pick your child up as soon as course is finished at 16:00. It is not InterSoccer’s responsibility for the children after this time. If you cannot be there on time please arrange that someone is there to pick your child up. If this is not possible then unfortunately you should not register your child. Alternatively register for a camp that finishes at 17:00, please check schedule in your region.
Our key aim is to make sure the participants have a great time, whatever ability. There is a great mix of activities each day to help stimulate all ages and abilities. Children are split in age and ability groups and will be put through fun but instructive coaching sessions each day to aid the child’s progression. There will be a number of mini matches and tournaments plus fun skill tests for all levels. The days are designed not to be too intense but fun and challenging, plenty of breaks for drinks and food are taken throughout the day. Medals, prizes and gifts are presented at the end of the course.
Depending on numbers and age, each main coach can coach approximately 18 children. However we also employ a number of Junior Coaches which increases the number of children possible per group. However, more often than not each group is way less than the figure mentioned above.
The days are great fun and normally fly by. There is a wide variety of skills, techniques and games plus skill challenges and speed shooting at most camps. There is also the possibility of quizzes and other forms of restful entertainment especially when hot weather. In addition numerous breaks are taken so the children don’t become too tired.
Children have regular breaks during the day, more if the weather is very hot. Each child should bring a re-fillable drinks bottle to camp so he can re-hydrate every time there is a break plus its always good for children to have something light for a mid morning snack.
Yes, this is very important. Mid-morning children will take a small snack break and then normally at approximately 12:30 the children will break for lunch. Therefore both a snack and packed lunch should be provided. Please take into account the hot weather when assembling this. Please make sure the child also has a large re-fillable drinks bottle.
Isotonic drinks (Gatorade, Isotar, Powerade etc) are very good for for replenishing energy, if not soft drinks and water. Fizzy drinks should not be provided. Please make sure you pack plenty, it’s a long day…Sandwiches, salads, fruits etc are all good, please avoid packing chocolate due to warm weather.
Coaches from professional clubs generally in England are normally flown over each summer to take part in certain camps, especially for the
Academy Camp Age Group and for the
Girls Camps . Certain summers we have also had a professional Soccer Freestyler
Paul Wood ‘Woody’ come to coach freestyling tricks at certain camps. We have also started to do
Goalkeeping Camps in certain regions for those children interested in learning more about Goalkeeping. Please check our website on a regular basis for latest news.
Each child receives an InterSoccer gift for attending the 4 day camp plus certificate and medal.
Children will have immense fun whatever their age group and will be put through various fun, stimulating and challenging sessions depending on their ability and age. They will also learn more and improve their skills and techniques, increase their knowledge on Rules and Regulations plus fair play and sportsmanship. We have also found that children increase their confidence and make many new friends.
2008 saw the first official Goalkeeping Course which was a great success and based on that and 2009 we will be doing more courses in the future so that aspiring goalkeepers can learn more on the basic techniques and fundamental skills of goalkeeping. Please keep checking the website for latest courses.
The safety and well being of all children on our courses is of paramount importance to us. We therefore restrict visitor access to the pitch. We feel this will allow the children to settle into the camp lifestyle and be able to concentrate on the soccer camp without being disturbed. If Parents do want to watch then there is plenty of space outside the pitch to observe. Thursday afternoon before medal ceremonies parents can take a closer look as normally weather permitting there will be an afternoon tournament, however, parents should stay on the outside of the pitch of the main pitch.

No, gifts or medals are only received for taking part in a 4 Day Summer Camp, an After School/Mini Soccer Course or a one day Tournament.
Tournaments are one off fun days of small-sided matches offering slightly more competition for children playing in teams. Medals or gifts are also presented at the end of the day. All abilities welcome.
InterSoccer has coached at a variety of schools including Nations, St Georges, International School of Lausanne, and International School of Mont Corsier. We have started certain courses through requests from schools or even through parent requests. We have coached fun football as well as the competitive teams. If you are interested in InterSoccer starting a course in your region at your school or a nearby facility please email
Steve Long with details in relation to your region.
We have taught children from 3-18 years at school of all abilities, both boys and girls.
For holiday courses children should bring football kit, including training top, football boots or trainers, a waterproof, shin pads, cap and sun cream for sun and heat protection plus a drinks bottle that can be re-filled. A change of kit in case of bad weather is always a good idea. For
After School /
Mini Soccer coaching similar equipment should be provided although once the weather hits autumn then plenty of warm clothing including winter hat/gloves should be brought.
Reservations / Payment for Courses
After visiting
BOOK ONLINE, if the course is still indicated then it is still available for booking. If it is no longer there it means it is sold out or Book Online has closed which it generally does at 18:00 the day before a holiday or one day course starts, and normally 2 weeks after the start of After School and Mini Soccer has started.
Please go to
BOOK ONLINE NOW and follow the instructions on how to register. If you are not certain please click on the following PDFs : How do I

Please make sure you have followed instructions and entered your correct details. If there seems to be a problem with the Book Online site due to possible maintenance work etc then please re-visit later. If you are still having problems please email
Steve Long and state clearly.
Please always keep these very safe so you can use in the future.
On the Book Online section you can click on a link if you have forgotten your password and this will be resent to you, however you must remember your email address used when making the original reservation. If you have forgotten your email as well then please send an email to Steve Long stating the family name you used the system for initially.
You can pay pitchside in most but not all cases. However, the price is more than booking online. Another alternative is to use a friends/colleagues card and repay them the money spent on the course.
This is not possible, for all courses you must pay for the whole course or if you are a very late arrival and Book Online has closed you can be quoted a price for the rest of the course by emailing Steve Long. Please be aware
booking online is the cheapest option.
We encourage all participants to use
Book Online as this is the cheapest option and saves money. It also helps us as once registering online your key details will be on the Course Registration sheets, such as name of child, age, emergency contact details. Registration online also saves a huge amount of time for the coaches when they should be concentrating only on coaching the participants. If you do pay pitchside please be aware you will have to pay the pitchside price which is more than book online. If you pay pitchside please pay in EXACT amount and in NOTES, not COINS. This should be put in envelope with name of child, venue and day of course.
You can change a reservation to another week but please be aware this costs time and money. A 10chf charge is normally used for changing course. Please email Steve Long if you want to change course.
Whilst registering for the the course, all parents will be able to read our
Terms and Conditions. With long term injury and illness a credit can be given for a future course (once a doctors certificate is provided) which must be used within a given time period. However as with all businesses, if a child misses the course due to short term illness no refund or credit can be given.
Unfortunately each child needs to stay with the course booked for and cannot swap days if misses a session. This can cause problems for coaches on other days due to size of classes plus there are also health and safety issues.
Yes this is possible as long as we have written notice by email to
Steve Long. This is a time consuming process so please make sure you are certain of the course you want to book and please be careful that you click the right box when making your booking.
We will endeavor to always go ahead with the training sessions although the children’s health and safety will always come first. If during camp the weather is severe then children will be taken indoors. The camps will always go ahead no matter what the weather. Participants are expected to turn up and stay at the course, rainjackets should always be bought no matter what time of year and its always a good idea to pack spare clothing. The participant can be taken home by the parents at ther own discretion however no credit or refund can be provided.
The course will still go ahead but there will be additional breaks for drinks when deemed necessary. However, parents are always expected to provide sun cream and caps/hats for their children as an added precaution. Sun cream should be applied before arrival for all day courses and packed in bag so children can apply during lunchtime. For courses term time courses, as mentioned above parents should pack sun cream and hat. Our coaches will remind children during the course regarding applying sun cream.
Most of our
coaching staff are qualified either through the Swiss or English FA. InterSoccer is committed to the safety and welfare of all children attending our courses. On all our courses there is always a member of staff with First Aid qualifications. In addition there will be a number of helpers to aid with the running of the courses if courses demand. InterSoccer also runs coach training and development programme to aid coaching and first aid qualifications for our staff.
