Frequently Asked Questions
What will my child get by attending a soccer school?

Every player who attends a Soccer Schools course will have a positive, unique and fun experience. Children will have the opportunity of improving their skills in a safe and healthy environment and making lots of new friends.

Will my child’s performance on the pitch be improved?

Our coaching staff will pass on the very best of their experience to the children on the course. Our coaches plus coaching aids will help improve the skills levels in all children. Coaching aids used will include: Mini Soccer Arenas, Passing Gates, Dribbling Aids, Soccer Tennis Courts, Shot - speed laser guns.

My child is attending on his own, will he be OK?

Yes, many children attend without friends or family. The individual children will be placed where possible in a group with children of the same age.

What qualifications and checks do your staff have?

All our coaching staff are qualified either through the Swiss or English FA. Inter Soccer is committed to the safety and welfare of all children attending our courses and has a Child Protection Policy in place. On all our courses there is a minimum of 2 staff with First Aid qualifications. In addition there will be a number of helpers to aid with the running of the camps.

Are meals provided?

On holiday courses you will have to bring a packed lunch and plenty of drinks with you. Fizzy drinks should be avoided.

Where is holiday course based?

The 2006 Inter Soccer holiday schools will once again be held in the magnificent surroundings of Centre Sportif de Versoix. It boasts magnificent sports facilities including 2 full size grass pitches, floodlit all weather surface, indoor/outdoor tennis facilities, outdoor swimming pool. Click here to learn more of the venue. A soccer camp also runs in Zug and we hope to be offering holiday schools in other Swiss cities in the near future so please keep checking the website.

How do I book a place on the course

We cannot take bookings over the telephone. Please send an email to Steve@intersoccer.ch to confirm your childs place stating their age, sex, which camp and which dates they will be attending and your best telephone contact number during the camp.

Will they need pocket money for the day, if so how much?

No pocket money will be necessary as a proper packed lunch should be provided by the parent which will be sufficient for the day. It is also preferred if the children stay within the vicinity of the pitch.

Are there any specific courses for Goalkeepers?

No, however we will endeavor to do our best to coach any aspiring goalkeepers in the basic techniques and fundamental skills of goalkeeping.

Can I watch my child during the session/matches at the holiday course?

The safety and well being of all children on our courses is of paramount importance to us. We therefore restrict visitor access to the pitch. We feel this will allow the children to settle into the camp lifestyle and be able to concentrate on the soccer camp without being disturbed. If Parents do want to watch then there is plenty of space outside the pitch to observe. For after school coaching parents are welcome to observe from the side of the pitch if desired.

What happens if its raining?

We will endeavor to always go ahead with the training sessions although the childrens health and safety will always come first. If in doubt, Gordon Nunn/Steve Long should be contacted on their mobile phones. If during camp the weather is severe then there could be an occasion where we will have to cancel the rest of the day. Parents/Guardians will be contacted and will be expected to collect their child. Any lost time due to the weather will be made up during the week.

What happens if my child cannot attend the designated day for his/her age at the after school session?

Please speak to Gordon Nunn/Steve Long and there should be a good possibility of them attending on another more convenient day. Many children at present attend on non designated days for their age and are extremely happy.

What equipment does my child need to bring?

For holiday courses children should bring football kit, including training top, football boots or trainers, a waterproof, shin pads, cap and suncream for sun and heat protection and a drink. For after school coaching similar equipment should be provided although once the weather hits autumn then plenty of warm clothing including winter hat/gloves should be brought.

My child has never played football/just started. Will he/she fit into the group?

Inter Soccer caters for everyone including all levels of ability. There are always newcomers to soccer who start with us for the first time and therefore they will be allocated to a group of the same/similar ability.

Are there any other girls on the course?

There are always girls on the course but it is always worth checking with us if it is a concern. We actively encourage girls to join after school coaching and camps and in the future we aim to be able to offer an all girls course.

What ages do you cater for?
Between 4-13 years old.

If child cannot attend course due to illness and injury will I be guaranteed a refund?

On confirmation of enrollment for the course, all parents will receive our cancellation policy. With injury and illness a full refund will be given with a doctors certificate. If a child drops out of the course for no particular reason then a 20% administration fee will be applied.
